Whether you are a serious walker, a beginner or just want a short walk with family to while away an afternoon, you will find a route to inspire you within only a short distance from Estuary House.
The village of South Pool sits centrally within the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, renowned for its stunning scenery, which offers a combination of gentle rolling countryside, beautiful river valleys, patchwork fields, ancient woodland and, of course, sandy coves and dramatic coastlines. If you want to go further afield, the high moorland peaks of the Dartmoor National Park are only a short drive away.
Without getting in the car, there are walks within and around the village, ideal for small children who can try our ‘Treasure Trail’ and wander across the stepping-stones to potter by the estuary. There are longer walks too, which will take you directly from the house north towards Kingsbridge or south, east and west towards the coast.
You will find well-trodden footpaths and those less well-trampled. All offer delightful views, opportunities to see the abundant wildlife and the feeling of freedom you can only get in the open air.
And after a refreshing and tiring walk, kick off your boots, dry off your socks and enjoy the warmth and comfort of Estuary House.
